The CPSC and Samsung are recalling Samsung’s top-load washers with super speed wash including model series WA49B, WA50B, WA51A, WA52A, WA54A, and WA55A. These appliances may short-circuit and overheat creating fire and burn hazards. About 663,500 washers were sold at Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s and other appliance stores nationwide and online at Samsung.com. These washers connect to your home internet via which a software update to prevent the overheating should be downloaded and installed. Stop using this washer until you have determined that your machine’s software has been updated. Instructions for checking on your machine’s software version may be found on Samsung.com. If you don’t have active internet at your home, contact Samsung at 1-833-916-4555 or online at samsung.com to receive a free thumb drive containing the software update that you install yourself. This bacterium can trigger severe and fatal infections in animals. The recalled product was sold in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin. The contaminated alfalfa cubes bear the following codes 111222, 111322, 111422, 111522 and 111622. Do not feed these alfalfa cubes to your horses or other animals. Avoid handling these cubes bare-handed and wear disposable gloves and a mask when disposing of the cubes and cleaning the feed bins in which they were stored.
